QB Brock Purdy Thread

Why does Purdy always get the spectacular ones called back? Like the amazing jump pass down the sideline which probably was a catch. That would make the highlight reels. Then the run all the way to the endzone. A block in the back and called back. Which it was. But it was a very athletic play which showed his speed and wheels which are underrated. Sometimes I just think people around the league don't know what Purdy can do. I would like some of those highlights to hit. So people can really see it. But they often get called back. Thus being deleted from the highlight reels and no awareness around the other teams fan bases.

That was not a block in the back.
Kittle initially legally nblocked him in the front and then the Cards player turned his back to him, which is still a legal block

I was shocked when a pen was called on Kittle in general, he rarely gets any and not only that, it was a s**tty ass call. A guy like Kittle just would not f**k up in a play like that no way. And he didn't.

Agree, I think his arm strength has gotten a bit better than last year. He is playing so much better behind a pretty good and developing OLine. The emergence of Colby locking the Left Guard positon down, is playing better than Laken Tomlinson and Spencer Burford in my opinion.

It's only been 3 games. Tomlinson was a probowler for us

I'm curious what's going on with him. Is he still sick? Was it just an off day? He's actually historically had a relatively poor PAT % but those will end your season in the playoffs if you do that too much.

Elite receiving instincts by Evans too, lettin the ball settle in the breadbasket. Trying to meet the ball would have risked a reaction from the defender which may have blocked the ball or interdicted his arm movements. Having the courage to do nothing was an elite veteran decision.

he hit a 59 yarder, then missed two xtra points? Can someone explain that?

Maybe start a thread because it happens to other kickers too. What's going on?

It seems weird but there has to be an operational reason on the football field.

like maybe the ball has to be placed closer to the line than what the kicker would normally do, or something.

Lot's od big plays get called back in games because of holding or a block in thr back. Sometimes that's why the big play happened. Like you said if you weren't watching the game the plays that get called back aren't shown on highlights. They can't show everything. That would cut into the commercial time.

As of this morning, PFF ranks Lamar Jackson the #2 running QB in the league.

People around other fan bases don't realize it.

Yeah there is just a large amount of bias against him. He can be spectacular sometimes. I just wish some would hit the highlights. Because it would change the perceptions. But the national media and other fan bases are wildly biased against him. Even if he does good they ignore it and wait for a Ravens type game. To say see that's what he is. They just wait for an example of their bias to get reinforced. While ignoring when he does well or even has some spectacular plays.
